Theme: "Saskia Sassen's Studies on the Global City"

Using the global city of Sassen, prof. Nahm explains the new aspects of the cities in the last half of the 20th century that has a unique property of the global capitalism, that is neo-liberal globalization. The speaker also presents the various theories refuting Sassen's "transnational urban system". He concludes the colloquium by addressing the problem which is caused by the western city centered discussion in the field of globalizatin and the global city.
