Theme: On the Ocean Currents in the Pacific Northwest

Speaker: Lee Ho Jin(Korea Maritime University)

Prof. Lee's explanation embraces a wide range of surface ocean current: the forces generating the ocean currents, the way of measurement as well as the function and importance of sea currents. He emphasizes the character of the Gulf Stream, the California Current and Korea Peninsula Current. Prof. Lee also show the importance of sea currents in terms of the sailing and shipping, the ocean ecosystem, and cultural movement throughout history.
